A medical ventilator is an important medical equipment or device that is designed to help breathable air to move in and out of the patient’s lungs, in other words it provides the mechanism of breathing for a patient who may not be in a condition to physically breathe or who breathes insufficiently. These medical ventilators are used in hospital intensive care units, in home care and as a component of an anesthetic machine, to administer anesthesia.
In its most basic form, a modern ventilator system consists of a compressible air reservoir, supplier of air and oxygen, a set of tubes and valves.
